Checked 1 October 2026
Deadlines for passenger cars
A passenger car must have its periodic technical inspection no later than 4 years after it was first registered, and then at the latest every 2 years.
- New car: first STK within 4 years of first registration.
- After that: every 2 years.
Where to find the date
The next inspection date is on the report from your last STK and on the inspection sticker on the number plate. Nobody will remind you — you have to track it yourself.
Practical tips
- Book a slot a few weeks ahead — stations fill up before the season.
- Driving without a valid STK is an offence.
In remindeer pick STK and enter the next inspection date — the reminder repeats every 2 years on its own.
